Part D (drug) changes

Starting in 2027, many prescription drugs will cost less. Most Tier 1 and Tier 2 drugs, including covered insulin, will have a $0 copay when filled at a network pharmacy or through mail order.

Some drugs in higher tiers (Tiers 3-5) will still have a copay, but costs for many medicines will remain low. These changes may help lower what you pay for prescriptions throughout the year.

For complete details about your drug coverage and costs, please review your Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC).

What DHS does

DHS manages the Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program for the state of Minnesota. DHS sets the rules, decides who qualifies and pays for the Medical Assistance (Medicaid) program for those who qualify.

Who to contact

Most human services in Minnesota are provided through your local county or tribal office. Based on where you live, you'll be assigned a county or tribal worker. This worker is different from your Blue Plus care team. You can contact your county or tribal worker to learn more about Medical Assistance (Medicaid).
